News Archive 18th February 2007 Final movie is finally finished. Click here to download the torrent file, it's xvid avi format same as the other versions. Well this is it for my project, hope you enjoy the film!
12th February 2007 I completely forgot about this news page, I've started working on Wing Commander again and I am creating the third and final cut of the film. I have already re-edited over half the missions implementing my ideas to make the most of this project. So far, here is the checklist of what will be improved/added to the final film. 1. Increase video quality as best as possible and eliminate frame drops / video lag 2. Re-Dub all audio for better quality 3. Re-Edit missions, add more music, reduce length and decrease the size of annoying subtitles. 4. Convert entire film to standard 16:9 aspect ratio to be compatible with home widescreen tv's and increase video height on square tv's/monitors, doing this without distorting the picture by using Pan & Scan. There will be other subtle changes hopefully I'll come up with some more ideas soon. 4th September 2006 The extended movie is complete! It ended up as 2 hours and 13 minutes long, over 30 minutes of extra footage. Still to come is the alternative ending version of the movie. You can find the completed extended version in the downloads section. 31st August 2006 The standard movie is complete! It ended up as 1 hour and 39 minutes long, a whole 40 minutes shorter than the original. Still to come is the extended and alternative ending versions of the movie. You can find the completed standard version in the downloads section. 29th August 2006 Well the project is nearing completion everyday for the standard movie. I've recorded the final mission and soon the project will be ready for final cuts and audio redubbing. I will keep update when it is ready. 22nd August 2006 Well I didn't need to scrap all of the project, some missions were still suitible. After reading the book I decided I wouldn't copy it completely, since I didn't like Blair's character very much in the book. Now I have finished capturing all the videos from the playstation I can focus on the missions. The project is making more progress each day. 18th August 2006 Good news, I managed to get hold of the Wing Commander III novel. Unfortunately this means I'm scrapping the whole project so far and starting from the beginning so I can follow everything by the book. The story should be very close to the book and the missions should be at least similar. Today I shall fiddle around with fraps and epsxe to try and get a better frame rate. 15th August 2006 A total of 7 missions have been recorded and edited now. The next mission is the test fire for the behemoth, exciting. Still experimenting with the psx emulator, trying to get some extra fps with fraps. 12th August 2006 Turns out that my playstation freezes after the first mission. However, the good news is that I got fraps working which means the quality is better as it is being captured from the emulator. Unfortunately it only seems to get 15fps, the frame rate isn't too bad and hardly noticable in regular scenes. All in all I'm making progress. 10th August 2006 Really getting stuck into the project now. Video capture from the playstation is all sorted out and the introduction to the movie is almost complete. Aiming to have a sample video by Sunday if I work non stop. 5th August 2006 Project offically reopened for a better movie. Wing Commander III psx game has already been purchased on ebay. Also I have started recording new ingame missions, far better video quality and much more interesting.
